Dee Garnes currently resides in Maui with her husband and two children. Readers familiar with Dr. Wayne Dyer know he is laughing joyously from Heaven as his final book is released in the world; this book about Heaven. He loved hearing stories from children especially when they were spiritually motivated. This book is no different.

His good friend and assistant Dee told him about a moment with her son regarding his memory of God and what came before he was born. That singular moment led to this compilation of stories of children from all over the world as their parents/grandparents recall similar moments of child-inspired insight.

This book is a joyous celebration of the innocence and mystery of life. If you as a reader are looking for documented-factually tested scientific proof of an existence beyond this life, you will have to look elsewhere. If you already believe that there is existence prior and after this life, this book is a wonderful collection from people all over the world sharing their experiences.

The stories are arranged in chapters such as Memories of Heaven, Memories of Choosing Parents, Memories of Family Reincarnations and Role Reversals, Memories of Spiritual Connections to Our Source, Mystical and Precognitive Wisdom, Invisible Friends and Spiritual Visitations, and Angel Stories.

At the beginning of each chapter Wayne writes an introduction and anecdote that relates to that chapter. To read of the sincerity of these children is a precious gift for those needing to hear these heartfelt stories. It is a way to lighten the hearts of adults and give them that pause to feel the love and light from a child’s heart. Wayne urges all adults to look at children as “spiritual beings” not merely inexperienced humans. No one can claim to have more wisdom simply because of a chronological age and that “wizened” adults can learn much from the innocence of unfiltered youth. If everyone were to reclaim their non-judgmental innocence that we had as children and to return to the loving light that is childhood this world would be better for us all. Sometimes the immaturity of youth teaches so much more than the hardness of age.

ENDURING AND ABSOLUTELY TIMELESS

I truly miss the late Wayne Dyer. The world has lost a remarkable soul and teacher. I read his first book ("Your Erroneous Zones") as a young man in the seventies and can, with complete conviction, say it helped me mature faster and become a better person. I also own and have read almost all of the books he has published after his first. Throughout his early years Dyer was a successful psychologist whose main emphasis included getting people to understand that one of life's greatest challenges is to personally accept responsibility for your circumstance in life. (if your life is gonna get better ... it's up to you to change ... and you need to own the problem's causes yourself!) During his last two decades Dyer studied the world's greatest philosophers ... and in the process became one himself. This book is consistent with Dyer's thinking, but deals with an entirely different subject ... the realistic potential of a sentient afterlife through the lucid, inner-eyes of many children's earliest memories. In his uniquely characteristic style Dyer has approached this subject through modern logic, reasoning and has skipped most of the metaphysical hyperbole. This book and its thinking is a fitting conclusion for one of the world's great masters. The collaboration with Dee Garnes is also very helpful.

I couldn't avoid having high expectations from this book. I will say that it has met my expectations, and then some. As I read it I felt transported to another place, another time. I started out skeptical of Wayne Dyer but, over time he won me over. I will miss him.

Combine the ages of these children, the geographic dispersion of their locations, the similarities in their stories and it's good evidence.

Great Information

Yes, there are plenty of sample projects for you to do in this book, but I think the best part of it was how in each project, there were explanations on what to do to get a desired result. For example, if you were to design a logo, it would explain what to look for in the competition, how to beat them, and how to interpret the information you've gathered to complete a design. It was a good refresher for sure.

This book was purchased for a graphic design course I was taking. Usually at the end of each semester I would sell back my books however this book I kept as it is very useful and informative. It has soo many great exercises that help keep everything I learned fresh in mind. Very useful and would recommend it to anyone.

Conventional wisdom would have us believe that every immigrant to the United States "became American", by choice and with deliberate speed. Yet, as Special Sorrows shows us, this is simply untrue. In this compelling revisionist study, Matthew Frye Jacobson reveals tenacious attachments to the Old World and explores the significance of homeland politics for Irish, Polish, and Jewish immigrants at the turn of the twentieth century. Drawing on Yiddish, Polish, and English-language sources, Jacobson discovers the influence of nationalist ideologies in the overt political agendas of such ethnic associations as the Knights of Zion and the Polish Falcons, as well as in newspapers, vernacular theater, popular religion, poetry, fiction, and festivals both religious and secular. In immigrant communities, he finds that nationalism was a powerful component of popular sensibility. A captivating example of Jacobson's thesis is immigrant reaction to American intervention in Cuba. Masculinist/militarist strains of nationalist culture met with the keen impulse to aid a subjugated people. The three national groups, laden with memories of their own subjugation, found an unlikely outlet in the Caribbean. But when the U.S. war for Cuban liberation was followed by a crusade for Philippine subjugation, immigrants faced a dilemma: some condemned the American empire rich in Old World parallels; others dismissed the Filipinos as racial "others" and embraced the glories of conquest. In effect, the crucible of American imperialism was vital to many immigrants' Americanization, in the sense of passionate participation in national politics, pro or con. This work answers the call of scholars to recover the fullexperience of these immigrants. It adds to the tapestry of America's turn-of-the-century political culture and restores an essential transnational dimension to questions of ethnic identity and behavior.

This book focuses on the immigration period around the turn of the last century. The first few chapters on how life in USA chronnicled the emigrants' views; that is, the reasons for emigration and the hope the US policy would support their dreams of creating (Jews) or reclaiming (Irish an Poles) a homeland. This part was somewhat tedious reading because it was too repetitive. The later chapters on the emigrants' reaction to the conflict in Cuba and the Phillipines were fascintating. It revealed the beginnings of empire building and sounded like current mideast policy.

This marvelous and insightful immigration history represents cultural history at its finest, with brilliant thoughts on the broader issues of homeland, citizenship and national identity alongside detailed investigations of Polish, Irish, and Eastern European settlers. If only this book was published in paperback, so it would be more accessible in the classroom!
