María Cristina "Cristy" Marrero habla español y come mofongo. Está obsesionada con las relaciones interpersonales y los seres humanos, en general. Tal vez a eso se deba que sea la primera latina nombrada portavoz oficial de Zoosk.com. También le obsesiona bastante crear contenido con sustancia que conecte y enganche. O al menos eso espera.
Como vice presidenta editorial de la afamada revista Hola! USA, Cristy tiene claro que su llamado en esta vida es escribir. En general, la orgullosa hija de Lucas (Q.E.P.D.) y Nydia, es una mujer feliz. En su faceta de periodista, ha sido merecedora de prestigiosos premios tales como: Women in Communications, Inc. Rising Star Award (2013), Julia de Burgos Award (2014) otorgado por el National Puerto Rican Day Parade, MIN Most Intriguing People in Media Award (2015), Folio Awards Top Women in Media 2015 y, más recientemente, con el Hispanic Heritage Month Award.
En su tiempo libre (nótese el sarcasmo) colabora con varios programas de televisión, enseña yoga Kundalini, practica reiki, corre bicicleta entre Manhattan y Brooklyn, escucha al menos dos podcasts al día, maquina cuál será su próxima vacación y es miembro del consejo del National Puerto Rican Day Parade, March of Dimes y A.S.M.E.

Honest and hilarious

This is an intelligently written, disarmingly honest and hilarious look at women and what makes each one unique. The characters are so real they jump off the page and the writing is fluid, agile, playful and, at the same time, the theme is profound. A great read by a hot new author!

Es como leerse la mente una misma

A menudo me pregunto por qué mujeres exitosas, guapas, poderosas, pasan su vida amorosa (nuestra vida amorosa) besando rana tras rana ... en lugar de centrarse en su (nuestro) poder interior. Pues ... resulta que es porque somos imperfectas. Y claro, no pasa nada por esto. Leí la novela en dos sesiones antes de dormir y fue parecido a leer mi propia mente en diferentes épocas de mi vida. También me recordó a muchas conversaciones con amigas repletas de risas y también lágrimas. Porque como dice Cristy, "hay belleza en la tragedia." Y de principio a fin, es una mezcla de lo que somos las que crecemos con más de un idioma, más de una cultura y una patria. Read it and laugh, or cry, or both. But in the end, you will be happy to just ... be. Imperfectly imperfect. Great read.

Un libro que toda mujer debe leer!

La autora combina perfectamente la dualidad de la vida: las penas y las alegrias, algo que toda mujer ha experimentado. Nos hace sentir como muchas veces juzgamos a los demas sin realizar que solo son un reflejo de nosotros mismo. Con un tono muy jocoso y elocuente, la autora cuenta la historia de 10 mujeres amigas y destaca sus imperfecciones y nos invita a a romper estereotipos y clichés, pero sobretodo a comprender la importancia de la aceptacion propia. Es una lectura muy rapida que te hara reir y quizas hasta llorar sin aburrirte! El libro esta super bien escrito y lo mejor esta en el final! Mensajes muy profundos, escritos desde un nivel muy elevado de conciencia, son compartidos rompiendo con muchos temas "tabu" que toda mujer lleva en su cabeza.
